4/5 stars
After some mafia craziness, Antonio & Vito are taking Megan, along with her sister Erin, away from Palmetto and hopefully away from danger. During this time Antonio and Megan cement their relationship and get even closer to one another. The time from frame the first book and this book only encompasses around 2 weeks. But with all the drama and everything going on, it doesn’t seem like it has been that short of time.
Erin isn’t adjusting well and Vito does everything that he can to help her out. His methods seem to work since they calm Erin down. Vito acts like he may have an interest in her but no one seems to notice much because she is only 14 and he’s probably around 17.
The mafia drama ramps up in this book. Some of it seems over the top, considering a high school senior is supposed to be taking care of it all. He may be the mob boss’s son, but he’s not even a capo and it seems like a lot of this would be over his head.
Again in this book, similar to the first book, there needed to be some sort of separation between the paragraphs when there was a major scene change.

Awakening the Mobster Book 2 in Mobster Series Volume 2 Amy Rachiele Summer Marston 9781479286959 Books Reviews
this is book two in the Mobster series which picks right up were book one left off. Meghan, Antonio, Vitto and Erin are on the after finding out Meghan and Erin's dad is the "cleaner" for Antonio's dad. So to hide out they all go to Notre Dame to visit Troy, there they learn that not everyone is who they claim to be and that some who claim to be loyal are working against them. A wonderful part of this book is that we get to see Antonio and Meghan's relationship grow and develop in this book. I loved Antonio he is the perfect hero he is ruthless in his protection of Meghan he will do anything to keep her safe and happy and won't let any man get in his way. And the care he shows for not only Meghan but her sister Erin was heart warming. But I have to say I fell in love with Vitto in this book he was captivating in this book, the hint at his love interest was perfect and I can only hope that Amy Rachiele either gives him his own story, or really continues giving him his voice in this series. I can not wait for book three Mobster's Vendetta to come out this is a fantastic story that I will follow till the end. All I can say is Bravo Amy Rachiele!
I have to hand it to the author --- when I read this series I am immersed, and only when I reach the end, do I realize I was dissatisfied with this or that.
One again, I find myself skimming over hard facts (high schooler true love probably won't last, mobster lifestyle cannot end well) and just enjoying the ride.
However, this round, I also really felt like I had read a few chapters of a novel and the story really did not have time to get anywhere. Thinking back, it seems like they went to a frat party, Antonio took care of some business, they dealt with the heroine's little sister's PTSD, and the rest of the time was about eating and sleeping. Even the romance portion was rather stilted since they were all cooped up together and did not really have alone time (not to say they still did not find the opportunity to get busy.) Then, just as it was getting near where it was going, it was the end.
While somewhat disappointed in this installment, it was still a decent read and I will still follow the series. Hopefully the author will work on the pacing --- or whatever you would call the series of events happening per book in a series --- to make each book seems like something is happening/being resolved in each and then move on to the next to resolve new or add to longer story arc items. That is what was lacking in this one for me.
Also, not sure if the spelling/grammar/malaprop problems are getting worse or I just felt more annoyed this second round but I strongly recommend the author get an editor to review and release an update.
I can pretty much use the same review here as I did for Mobster's Girl.
"I enjoyed this story. The book probably would have received 3.5 stars from me were it not for what appeared to be a lack of editing. I had to check a few times to make sure that I wasn't reading an ARC. There were grammatical errors (your instead of you're), punctuation in the wrong places (like the middle of words) or completely missing punctuation where it should have been. It really ruined the flow of the story every time I had to stop reading and mentally correct things. I also hate stories that don't end. If it's its own book, end it with a proper ending. Harry Potter did this very well, a running story but with complete stories in each book. Don't just stop mid paragraph and say 'buy my next book to find out the rest of the thought.'
I really did enjoy the story; I liked the characters and found them to be believable. And I will continue with the rest of the books, but please, make sure they're edited before publishing!"
The only differences was that there weren't punctuation marks in the middle of words and though it did end in the middle of a situation, it didn't bother me as much here as in the first volume. I do enjoy these books, its just frustrating that I've spent $10 (plus shipping) on each of these books that are barely 100 pages, and they aren't proofread/edited as they should be.
