I actually enjoyed the book, but the author really should have gotten the names correct. "Churchill" was used several times instead of "Church Hill."President John Tyler became "James Tyler." Chris Semtner at the Edgar Allan Poe Museum was "Chris Sempter" in the book. Sailor Bob's puppet buddy was Gilly Gull, not "Gilly Gus." Bill Bowman was the Bowman Body, not "Bowman's Body." Wrong words were used, too, such as "calvary" for horse soldiers, and "passed" instead of "past." Still, it's a book worth reading for those interested in haunted places in and around Richmond. The author tells of her experiences visiting various sites, using ghost-hunting equipment. By the way, her name's not really "Patricia Kenny."

this book is great I love the pics and the stories ) I think its really great to know what places are haunted and learn more about them )
This is a sequel to her award winning "Haunted Richmond". Haunted Richmond II, carries more stories than her first book with a great amount of detail. A lot of hard work went into this book and a lot of traveling!
From the contents you will find Richmond Area Haunts, Haunted Henrico County, Ghosts of Hanover County and Ashland, Paranormal Chesterfield County, Ghosts of Petersburg and the Tri-Cities, Creatures on the loose, and not so Paranormal Legends.
Pamela has referenced several local paranormal teams. She gives in depth accounts from the owner's experiences, as well as actual accounts of paranormal investigations that she has participated in and their findings. You will also get some great insights as to which locations offer tours and which ones will allow you to take photos.
In Haunted Richmond II you will find anything from the ghosts of Belle Isle, Parker's Battery, the legend of the Psychic Horse, and the Sasquatch in Richmond. This is a must read for paranormal enthusiasts.
The author has done it again with her second book about haunted Richmond and nearby towns. In it, she details the history of the sites, the legends and the real life encounters she and others have had with the metaphysical. We go with her on investigations that have never been in a book before. Paranormal investigators go behind the scenes and you feel like you are there with them.
Henricus, Cold Harbor Battlefield, the special demonstration at the Byrd Park Pump House of the alleged "ghost-catching machine" devised by Robert Bess, are intersting reading.
But the best are saved for last the atmospheric Poplar National Cemetery, Blandford Church, where wedding photographers have pretty well given up taking photos inside the church because they always come out blurred... the Tombstone House in Petersburg, where the exterior siding is composed of tombstones of Union soldiers, sold by the mayor from the Poplar National Cemetery to the home builders in 1930 thinking he was being helpful, as the city could use the money and after all, the soldiers would not mind..... OR DID THEY? This house just cannot keep residents in it. People move out quickly, even those who are unaware that these small slabs of stone are tombstones.
Pamela K. Kinney is one of my favourite authors. This book is the sequel to Haunted Richmond, and like the first, it is a great paranormal book!
In this book, the author describes many haunted places about Richmond area, Henrico County, Hanover County and Ashland, Chesterfield County and Petersburg. Some chapters are about strange creatures.
The haunted locations including shops, museums, theaters, houses, churches, schools, islands, hotels, cemeteries, taverns, plantations, colleges, parks, bars and others!
The book is plenty of interesting black and White photos.
The book cover is good and there is a short bibliography at the end.
My favourite tales are Ghost of Ellen Glasgow, Sailor's Creek Battlefield, Magic of Love at University of Richmond, The Mythical Lost City, The Psychic Horse, The Tombstone House and Sergeant Santa.
Recommended reading.
