Secret Santa is book 2.5 in the Secret McQueen series and is just another excellent and entertaining reading experience that is the continuing story of Secret McQueen bounty Hunter/Vampire Killer/assassin/etc . It was as good as all the rest have been. I have this innate fear that I am going to eventually read all the really good books and be left with mediocre ones:) I am not sure if this was considered a novel but if not it was a really long novella with a good story and a excellent ending. I am still a bit concerned about the drift towards what I call the Anita Blake porn syndrome, she has like at least 3 men in her love triangle (quadrangle?) although (bottom line, these are great books, 4+ Stars no doubt, at times long winded but not too bad) This series is a keeper and will keep you awake, this installment is the story is noticeable in that it did not end with a dangling hint or cliff-hanger so book 3 gets to start clean I guess :) I am rating these books pretty much 4.5 Stars as a total since to me the books read like a long story and any weaknesses in one are offset by the others. This particular books ending while excellent I felt might have been a bit rushed for my tastes but hardly a negative.

The plot doesn't move very far in this one. It is a sweet Christmas offering. Nice to see the development of the secondary characters.
This Christmas short didn' really propel the story and could have easily been absorbed (or not) into one of the other books. Her relationship in it though with her live in BF makes it hard for me to understand what the hell she's doing with the alpha leader.
This short novella was just as wonderful as the others in the series. I loved the story line and relished the dark terror of the "monster" in this book. Still some wonderful sexy scenes (I'm SO Team Desmond now) and a promise given to discover what is between Secret and Holden.

How many guys can one woman handle anyway? Lucky wench or what!? Can't wait to find out!
I used to be a big fan of laural k hamilton's Anita Blake novels. She would kick but and not take any nonsense from anyone. Then they became overly talky pron, and not even very good overly talky porn. No plot, and you were usually exusted from all the angst leading up to it. The Secret McQueen books remind me of how good those books used to be. You have a strong female lead who is stronger than she knows she is yet. Plenty of hot guys, I dont mind the multiple partners as long as it dosn't take over the book. All in all a fun, quick read, good for a rainy day indoors.
Have I mentioned how much I love this series? I LOVE THIS SERIES! The characters are great, the smut is plentiful, what more could I ask for? This little installment was a nice filler to give the characters some time in between the ending of book 2 and the start of book 3. Starting book 3 right now!!
I have enjoyed all of the Sierra Dean "Secret" books so far. Secret is funny and kicks butt, the men in her life are good looking and crazy about her (always a plus), and she has friends to help her out. However "SPOILER ALERT" I fear these books maybe headed the way of the "Anita Blake - Laurel K. Hamilton" series, a series I USED to love but then it became way to much sex (with too many partners)and very little plot. Secret has two men in her life, her live in love Desmond and the Wolf King who she still has not "been with" (which is a little suspicious)then she makes a promise to Holden to spend a night with him. Why would she do that? He would not have let her go into danger alone and she knows that. She should also know that if she does it, she risks ending her relationships with Desmond who she loves, and Luke who she also has feelings for. Why can't she and Holden be best friends without it being sexual? Oh well I guess I will keep reading and hope that I won't have to start looking for another new series.,
This novella was great, but I am a little disappointed in Secret. Is she ever going to give Lucas some love? Secret has a problem looming on the horizon and it all centers around her love life. Lucas, Desmond and Holden. Lucky girl, lol. This is set around Christmas time. Lucas is out of town and Secret can no longer hunt rogue vampires. Things are working out with her live in boyfriend/bodyguard Desmond. Detective Mercedes Castilla needs Secret's help when stockings of body parts start appearing around the city. Also connected are missing teens who have just disappeared into thin air. She jumps at the chance to help. She asks Holden to help her find the monster. He is jealous of Desmond and he lets her know it. He is always pushing boundaries. Things turn from serious to catastrophic when they realize all of the teen are shifters. Things get ever more personal when Desmond sister goes missing. Secret and Holden must work together to save the day without getting themselves killed in the mean time.
This series is awesome, and it gets better with every book. Sierra Dean has found her genre. The writing flows and she brings the characters alive.
